[Day-to-Day Operations](https://kb.revela.co/knowledge-base/guides?hsLang=en-us#day-to-day-operations) # Managing Email and SMS Communications in Revela Revela lets you manage email and SMS conversations with owners, tenants, and vendors directly within the platform, without switching to a separate inbox or messaging tool. Every conversation, whether it started from a contact's profile, a maintenance work order, or the Communications section, lives in one place and uses the same message composer. ### **The Email and SMS Inbox** Your Email and SMS inboxes use a split-view layout: the full list of conversations sits on the left, and the conversation you've selected opens on the right, so you can move between messages without losing your place in the list. Use the search bar and filters to find a specific conversation, and select multiple conversations at once to mark them as read, mark them as unread, or delete them in bulk. ![](https://kb.revela.co/hs-fs/hubfs/undefined-Aug-31-2026-05-10-12-3832-PM.png?width=1120&height=771&name=undefined-Aug-31-2026-05-10-12-3832-PM.png) **Composing a Message** Wherever you start a new message from, whether that's the **Communications** section, a contact's profile, or a maintenance work order, you'll see the same **New Message** composer for both email and SMS. Any templates you've saved are available directly from the composer, so you don't need to rewrite common messages from scratch. ### **Working with Email** #### **Replying and Forwarding** From within an email conversation, you can reply to every recipient on the thread, not just the original sender, and forward the email to someone new, all without leaving the conversation you're in. **Note:** When forwarding an email, the recipient must already exist as a contact within Revela. ![](https://kb.revela.co/hs-fs/hubfs/undefined-Aug-31-2026-05-07-33-7950-PM.png?width=765&height=206&name=undefined-Aug-31-2026-05-07-33-7950-PM.png)   #### **Formatting Your Message** The rich text editor used across **Email** and **Email Templates** includes a toolbar with the formatting options you're most likely to use: text styles, bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, links, lists, indenting, and attachments. ![](https://kb.revela.co/hs-fs/hubfs/undefined-Aug-31-2026-05-07-32-7440-PM.png?width=739&height=659&name=undefined-Aug-31-2026-05-07-32-7440-PM.png) #### **Delivery History and Email Templates** **Delivery History** shows a record of every email that's been sent, and is accessible from the dropdown on the Email inbox alongside **Email Templates**. Both pages use customizable data tables: you can filter the data shown, choose which columns appear, and drag columns to reorder them. Forwarding to an address that isn't tied to a contact record isn't currently supported. - Set up your preferred columns and filters on the Delivery History table the first time you visit it.
