How to Record Offline Tenant Payments

If a tenant makes an offline payment to their management company in the form of a check, cashier’s check, money order, or cash, it is important to record the payment in Revela on the tenant’s account so their ledger is accurate and up-to-date.

To record an offline payment to a tenant account, navigate to the tenant’s profile and select Record Payment in the top right corner.

The following information is required when recording an offline payment:

    • Lease - Select the lease ledger the payment should be applied to.
    • NOTE: The system will always default to the most recent lease ledger.
  • Deposit Account - Select the bank account the offline payment was deposited into outside of Revela.
  • NOTE: For situations where a payment was received but not directly collected by the management company (e.g., owner-held security deposits or payments made directly to the property owner), select “None” as the Deposit Account.
  • Date - Enter the date the payment was received.
  • Amount - Enter the amount that was received.
  • Payment Method - Select the payment method the tenant used to remit payment.

If there are unpaid invoices on the tenant’s ledger, they will appear here and the payment can be applied to them before selecting Record Payment.
